Editing questions
Change an earlier question and regenerate the answer.
Hover a question (or tap it on touch devices) and click the pencil button to edit it. The edit view restores:
- the question text;
- its passage attachments;
- the page it was asked from.
While editing, readers can change the text, remove passages, select more text in the docs to attach it, or change the page context with Use current page, the remove button or Restore original page.
Save & regenerate replaces that question's answer and every message after it. The conversation stays linear; there are no branches. Cancel (or Esc) leaves the conversation unchanged.
Editing is disabled while an answer is generating in the conversation, including in another tab. If regeneration fails, Try again retries it.
Under the hood Glossen calls the AI SDK's sendMessage with the original messageId, which replaces the message and removes the messages after it.
